FRAUD ALERT: Members, we have received reports of a fraudulent email/phishing scam regarding credit union accounts. If you receive an email asking for your account log in and password information, or asking you to follow a link to review your credit union account, THIS IS A SCAM.
Mil-Way FCU will NEVER send you an unsolicited email asking you to verify information such as your account numbers, passwords, social security number, etc. If you receive such an email (that appears to be fraudulent), delete it immediately. Most importantly, DO NOT click on links within the email.
Here are some other things to consider:
» Look at the URL: Scammers will create a fake website that looks legit. Be sure to check the actual web address at the top of your browser. If something doesn’t look quite right, it’s probably not.
» When in doubt, call the credit union: If you question the legitimacy of an email, phone call, text or other form of communication, please call your credit union to verify BEFORE revealing your personal or account information.
